Job Description:
The Lab Technician will perform routine and specialized laboratory tests to support patient care. This role involves collecting, processing, and analyzing biological specimens while maintaining accuracy, safety, and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
Specimen Collection & Handling Collect blood, urine, and other samples from patients using standard protocols. Label, transport, and store specimens properly to maintain integrity.

Testing & Analysis
Perform routine and specialized diagnostic tests using laboratory equipment. Record, analyze, and interpret test results accurately.

Equipment Maintenance
Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments. Report any malfunctions or need for repairs to the supervisor.

Quality Assurance
Adhere to quality control procedures to ensure reliable test results. Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs.

Safety & Compliance
Follow biosafety protocols and ensure a clean working environment. Comply with hospital policies, NABL standards, and other applicable regulations.

Patient Interaction
Communicate with patients professionally during sample collection. Address patient queries and concerns politely.

Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory findings. Report critical values and unusual results promptly to the healthcare team.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT/BMLT) from a recognized institution. Experience: 0-20 years of experience in a hospital or diagnostic lab preferred.

Skills:
Proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment usage. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask. Basic computer skills for managing lab software. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
