Job Summary

The Senior Resident in the Department of Medical Oncology is responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients with gastrointestinal, hepatic, and pancreatic disorders. This role involves a combination of clinical duties, academic responsibilities, and research activities, under the supervision and guidance of senior faculty members. Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Care:
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to gastroenterology, such as endoscopies, colonoscopies, ERCPs, etc. Manage inpatients and outpatients with gastrointestinal conditions. Participate in daily ward rounds, case discussions, and patient management meetings. Provide emergency gastroenterology services, including on-call duties as per the roster. Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of patient records.

Teaching & Academic Activities:
Assist in the teaching and training of undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. Participate in academic discussions, seminars, journal clubs, and case presentations. Mentor and supervise junior residents and interns in the department.

Research:
Engage in clinical research projects and contribute to the department's research initiatives. Assist in writing research papers, articles, and case reports for publication in national and international journals. Stay updated with the latest advancements in the field of Medical Oncology.

Administrative Duties:
Assist the Head of Department in organizing departmental activities, including conferences, workshops, and CMEs. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all professional activities. Contribute to the quality improvement initiatives within the department.

Qualifications & Skills:
Educational Qualification: MD/DNB in General Medicine or Pediatrics, followed by a DM/DNB in Gastroenterology. Experience: Completion of a recognized residency program in Gastroenterology. Skills: Proficiency in gastroenterology procedures, strong clinical acumen, effective communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities. Certification: Valid registration with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or relevant State Medical Council.
